This film is a … This film is a roller coster ride of twist and turns but not only leaves you thinking throughout the film but keeps you thinking way after. 8.6 out of 10

The movie is great … The movie is great if you’re able to invest your attention to it. Let yourself become wrapped into the story.
I’m sure everyone will agree with me when I say that the dream sequences in this film are AMAZING. They are surreal, haunting, and full of emotion.

My God, to call ‘ … My God, to call ‘Shutter Island’ a modern masterpiece is as much of an understatement as saying that Einstein was merely “a smart guy.” It, like Einstein, does things to the mind that one couldn’t possibly foresee as being possible. Okay, well, perhaps that’s a rather poor analogy, but believe me, you, ‘Shutter Island’ is an eerie mind-trip, and quite unlike anything you’ve ever seen in film before.

I saw it last night … I saw it last night. I really enjoyed however I don’t think this movie has much of a twist ending. If you piece the story together from a to b to c and so on than it is the only possible ending for this movie.
8.4/10
When it comes to Martin Scorsese’s films, The Shutter Island is not his strongest, yet at the same time it brings something new to the screen.

Some cinematic … Some cinematic choices were really confusing until the end. Like why were the dreams so long and weird, and why was the music so obnoxious on the way into the island, I wanted to know, until I realized the entire meat of the plot. Once you understand the whole plot you will understand why the movie was filmed that way.

This movie isn’t … This movie isn’t horrible, but it isn’t good; people are divided in this movie, you either like it or hate it. The acting and cinematography was awesome, the rest was garbage. I, and the people I saw it with, had it figured out less than halfway through and were expecting another twist because we just couldn’t believe it was that simple. After that, the movie just drug out way too long.

watching shutter … watching shutter island was like having having a tiny person sitting on your brain, and every something seems clear that little guy would stand up and start tap dancing till your so lost you don’t wanna think anymore. amazing movie 9/10 the ending should’ve went the other route in my opinion.
Comment by KattInTheHatt on February 21, 2010 at 5:26 pm
to be honest, i … to be honest, i wasnt that fond of the ending, i thought it had a bit more potential to be a complete mindfuck. i guess it just felt a bit too much like when you find out it was all a dream at the end of a really long movie. but still, i thought it was quite visually stunning and there were a lot of great things about the film.
